About Payment Facilitators

Mastercard defines a Payment Facilitator as a merchant that is registered by an acquirer to facilitate transactions on behalf of sub-merchants. Mastercard has implemented rules governing the use and conduct of Payment Facilitators. Please see Rules 5.4 and 5.5 in the Mastercard Rules. An acquirer must register a merchant as a Payment Facilitator with Mastercard.
