Tennis is a unique sport that has the ability to bond even the unlikeliest of players and that’s not just because it has the word love in it. Tennis can be played by anyone from age eight to 80. The game evolves just as the players and skills do, which means it’s not just for the head down, headphones in, fitness-types. That‘s why we believe that what’s really priceless about tennis isn’t hitting the ball over the net, but the friendships and connections you walk away with.
So in our third year of sponsoring the Australian Open, we are inviting everyone to rally together! Because a great rally brings people together, fans to their feet, and players to their knees.
Throughout each day of the tournament, we are encouraging fans to pick up a racquet and challenge their friends (or even strangers) to a rally on the Mastercard Beach Tennis Court. Each set of participating players will be given 3 minutes on the clock, and challenged to top the leader board with the longest rally across the two week tournament, in order to win a $2,500 Ticketek voucher.
Each tennis player has their own distinct style, movement and creativity. Using sensors embedded into each players paddle, player data will be interpreted, analysed and brought to life in real-time art, with these meaningful connections generated between two players visually represented through a giant digital LED screen within our activation area.
